Overview
The ConsciousFlowz mission is to motivate
youth to create a better world by forming new, interactive programs that use music to teach leadership skills, encourage independent
thinking, and educate youth about social issues. We are working towards this mission on both a local and an international
level.
The only language that transcends age, race, and nationality
is music. ConsciousFlowz recognizes that the key to youth development is to create a program that addresses key issues while
engaging youth in a fun and expressive way.
The social influence of Hip Hop in the global spectrum
is undeniable. Since the inception of Hip Hop, the eloquence of spoken word laid over an infectious beat has provided a voice
to urban communities speaking out on important issues. The influence of Hip Hop in the last decade has grown as a strong outlet
for the expression of political views and social awareness. While maintaining its roots in the urban communities, the genre
has connected with others outside the community wishing to express their visions of happiness and hope, as well as repression
and disgust. Music is a vehicle for communication of the positive and negative elements within society.
While Top-40 Rap dominates the radio airwaves, other artists create music for the sake of artistic expression and
positive influence. These artists remind us that Hip Hop is often the most intelligent genre and one of few outlets for progressive
thought.
Although we are placing a lot of emphasis on hip hop, ConsciousFlowz
believes in the power of all music and is working closely with Jazz, Funk, Blues and Rock artists on various projects.
