KIDZ @ 43rd PLACE was founded by Damaris Bernard - Dennis Smith on February 12th of 2005. Kidz
@ 43rd Place is sponsored by KAOS NETWORK. We work in collaboration with Black Swan Entertainment and Nahisha Pettit
to offer acting classes to our children. We also work in collaboration with Rainbow Music Academy to provide violin and piano
lessons.
The purpose of KIDZ @ 43rd PLACE is to provide children ages 7-18 in our community the opportunity to
develop their talents through acting classes, art,
and music. The acting classes teach them how to read and understand
scripts character development, voice projection, and the physical training necessary for
stage and on-camera work. This
training helps the children build self-confidence in expressing themselves, and expanding their vocabulary and literary knowledge.
The main goal of KIDZ @ 43rd PLACE is to help children build a lifelong appreciation for the arts through group and
individual participation.
ACTING helps children develop self-confidence and imagination.
MUSIC develops the
brain and motor skills.
HISTORY develops knowledge wisdom and understanding.
All our teachers are talented/experienced
instructors and/or working professionals, donating their time to share their talents/knowledge with the children in the community.
At the end of the 18-weeks workshop our children will be able to showcase their talents and/or learned technique(s)
culminating with performances.
The children interested in showcasing their talents: Acting, singing, dancing or
playing an instrument will be able to have the opportunity to use their talent(s)
during the show.
The children
also helps to create the artwork for flyers, signs, backdrop, t-shirts, props, sets, etc.
