…so a student reminded me of the exchange of ‘The Two Benjamins’ as in Mr. Banneker wrote wrote Mr. Franklin..YET It was actually an exchange with Thomas Jefferson who was then governor of Virginia.

The letter from Benjamin Banneker to Thomas Jefferson is considered by some as an early  piece of a civil rights protest letter.
